25 | At 10:58 AM Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Lea Habtom and Licensing Program Manager Keven Peters met with the Licensee, Robin Cunningham, for the purpose of an unannounced Annual inspection. The Licensee's assistant, Taylor Werth, was also present upon arrival. At 10:59 AM LPA observed 4 preschool children supervised by 1 staff at the outdoor playground. Operating hours are 6:30am to 5:30pm, Monday through Fridays.
A health and safety inspection was conducted in all areas accessible to children. Off-limits areas include the basement, two locked sheds and side yard. Licensee acknowledged that children may never enter these off-limit areas. LPA observed a working phone, fire extinguisher, and functioning smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. Licensee stated there are no weapons in the home. Toxic and hazardous items (detergents, cleaning compounds, medications, sharp utensils, items that could pose a danger to children in care) are properly stored and inaccessible to children. The fireplace in the home is appropriately barricaded to prevent access by children. The stairs is properly barricaded by a wooden gate with a latching mechanism. Safe toys and play equipment are observed. The outdoor play space is fenced. The backyard is fenced and gated. There is not a ground pool on the property.
Some children’s files were reviewed. A current roster is being maintained. Licensee fire and disaster drills are conducted and documented with last fire drill completed on December 2019. CPR and first aid training were verified and expire March 31, 2020. LPA verified Mandated Reporter Training (AB 1207) was complete with an expiration date of June 30, 2021.
