25 | On August 23rd, 2021 at 11:15 am, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Jeremey McClain met with Director Stefanie Baldonade for an unannounced annual random inspection. LPA observed 26 preschool children supervised by three staff members.
LPA toured all activity and classroom spaces, restrooms, and outdoor play areas. Toxic and hazardous items are inaccessible to children. Furniture and equipment are in good condition. Playground equipment and surfaces are free of loose or sharp parts. The areas around or under climbing equipment are cushioned with bark to absorb the fall. Toileting facilities are in safe, sanitary and operating condition. The floors appeared clean throughout the facility. Trash containers with solid waste have tight-fitting covers. Families provide lunch and snack for their children. The facility currently utilizes and electronic sign in and out sheet.
Staff and children's records were reviewed. Each child's file contained an emergency card and a medical assessment. At least one staff member present today has current Pediatric CPR and First Aid certification. All staff currently employed with the facility have: a criminal record clearance, a health screening report, AB1207 Mandated Reporter Training, and documentation of their educational background, training, and/or experience. LPA observed a functional carbon monoxide detector.
Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. No children in care When any IMS is provided, an updated Plan of Operation that includes IMS must be submitted to the Department.
