25 | An unannounced annual/random inspection on the Infant / Toddler option Program is made today by Licensing Program Analysts Owens and McClain. LPA Owens and McClain met with Owner /Director Lydia Saadeh. There were 3 infants and 7 toddlers present with 3 staff.
A tour of the infant area conducted. The infant indoor and outdoor activity space is
physically separate from the space used by other day care children. Infant furniture and equipment, including cribs, cots/mats, and feeding chairs are sufficient, age appropriate and in good repair. Infant changing tables have padded surface no less than one inch thick, covered with washable vinyl or plastic, and have raised sides at least three inches high. Toys are safe, without sharp points, edges, splinters or small parts that can be pulled off and swallowed. Facility is in compliance with staff infant / toddler option ratios. The facility is in compliance with conditions and limitations specified on the license. All infants including those napping in cribs are under visual observation at all times. Feeding plans reviewed for some infants, Needs and Services plans reviewed for some infants. Sign in/Sign out sheets have full legal signature and record of time of day. Staff utilized as infant teachers have three child development units in infant/toddler care. There is adequate space for children belongings. Napping equipment are in good repair. LPA review sleep log for infants.
There are no bodies of water. Firearms and ammunition are not on the premises. Storage area for poisons is locked. Disinfectants, hazardous items and medications are inaccessible to children. Furniture and equipment are sufficient, age appropriate and in good repair. Fire drills are conducted according to Title -22 Regulations. The playground equipment and outdoor activity space is maintained and in good condition. There is adequate shade on the playground. Rubber Turf is being used as cushioning around the climbing equipment.
Children's toilets, hand washing facilities are sanitary. Rooms are safe and clean. Carbon Monoxide detector is on the premises. Food preparation area is clean, food is protected from contamination, storage containers for solid waste are covered and all food or beverages are stored in covered containers at 45 degrees or less. The facility provides AM/PM, parents provide child's lunch. Drinking water is available both indoors and outside. Menus are posted. First Aid/CPR reviewed and in compliance. Emergency information reviewed for some children. Staff records reviewed contain documentation of the educational background, training, and/or experience. Operating hours are Monday thru Friday; 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. continued on next page. |
