25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Amanda Blesi met with licensee's daughter Amanda Dodson, for the purpose of an unannounced required 1-year inspection. Licensee was not feeling well today and was resting in the main house. Assistants Amanda and Robin were supervising the children today. LPA observed 9 preschool aged children in care.
At 11:30 a.m., Licensee guided LPA on a tour of the facility, and a health and safety inspection was conducted in all areas accessible to children. The preschool is conducted in the separate building from the home. Off-limits areas include the living area of the home and detached garage. LPA observed the required postings, a working phone, 2A10BC fire extinguisher, and functioning smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. Per Licensee, there are no weapons in the home. There is a seasonal creek on the property. The outdoor space is fenced with a wrought iron fence at least 5 feet high. The gates leading to the creek were observed to self close and self latch. Toxic and hazardous items are inaccessible to children. Outdoor play space is fenced.
Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
LPA reviewed three children’s files. A current roster is being maintained and fire and disaster drills are documented. Current CPR and First Aid certification was verified and expires 9/2023, and AB 1207 Mandated Reporter Training was verified for the Licensee and expires 8/2023. (Report continues LIC809-C) |
