25 | On December 12, 2023, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Lea Habtom met with Licensee, Amber Pritchard, for the purpose of an unannounced annual inspection. Upon arrival, LPA observed licensee supervising 1 infant over 12 months. All individuals subject to criminal background review have obtained a criminal record clearance. Licensee confirmed that there are no new residents or employees since the last inspection. One other adult was present in the home at the time of the inspection. LPA observed proper ratio and capacity was being followed. Facility hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM 5:30 PM.
A health and safety evaluation was conducted in all areas accessible to children. Off-limit areas includes: all bedrooms, backyard and garage. Licensee acknowledged that children may never enter these off-limit areas. During today's inspection LPA Habtom inspected the front room to the right. Effective today, the off limits area was updated to remove the front room to the right from off limits to on limits. LPA observed that the facility is clean, safe, sanitary, and in good repair. LPA observed a functioning smoke detector, carbon monoxide detector, and a full 2A10BC fire extinguisher. The facility has adequate toys that appear to be safe for children to use. The licensee stated there are no weapons or poisons in the home. LPA observed a fireplace barricaded according to regulation. The backyard is fenced and there are no bodies of water.
LPA reviewed two children’s files which were incomplete. Required postings and the children’s roster were observed. Licensee has 1 infant enrolled. Licensee has a current fire drill log. Licensee’s CPR/First Aid card expires 12/2024. LPA was unable to verify the licensee’s Mandated Reporter training. Licensee understands that training's must be completed every two years.
LPA notified licensee that annual fees are not current. Licensee was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org website; a consumer education website that helps families obtain child care by connecting them to child care providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California.
