25 | On August 22, 2023 Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Lea Habtom met with site supervisor Vanna Le for the purpose of a required annual inspection. The facility operates on Parker Whitney Elementary School campus in portable E3 . All staff are associated to the Sunset Ranch facility #313620604. There was 1 transitional kindergarten child present being supervised by 1 assistant and the site supervisor.
Facility representative was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
LPA toured the portable. Toxic and hazardous items are inaccessible to children. Furniture and equipment are in good condition. Playground equipment and surfaces are free of loose or sharp parts. Facility shares the school restroom and playground . The floors appeared clean throughout the facility. All food was protected against contamination. Drinking water was readily available to children both indoors and outdoors. There are no firearms or bodies of water on the premises. LPA observed a functional carbon monoxide detector. LPA reviewed the Department's inspection authority and discussed any changes that may occur regarding the director or an employee acting in the director's absence must be reported to department within 10 working days.
