Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Amanda Blesi met with Program Manager, Teresa Dawson-Roberts for the purpose of a case management inspection. Licensee has requested to add a toddler option to their preschool license. Facility is requesting to serve under a Toddler Option exclusively at this time. The inspection today was conducted via Facetime video due to COVID-19. A fire clearance was granted on 12/04/2020 for a total of 24 preschool/toddlers ages 18-36 months.

The facility will serve 24 toddlers in the preschool portable on the Carlin C. Coppin Elementary School campus. The program operates Monday - Friday from 8:00am - 3:30pm during the Placer County Office of Education academic school year. The preschool portable was previously measured and approved for 24 preschool children during the pre-licensing inspection on 08/14/2015, therefore, no measurements were taken during today's inspection.

The director understands that the provisions of Title 22 sections 101151 through 101239.2 shall apply for children over 24 months, in addition to health and safety section 1596.956. Section 101351 through 101439.1 shall apply to children between the ages of 18-24 months. Mats and cots, changing tables, and age appropriate furniture, equipment and toys have been ordered and should arrive shortly. There is sufficient storage for toddler’s individual belongings. LPA reviewed the ratio requirement of 1 to 6, maximum group size of 12 toddlers and that the toddler program must be conducted in areas separate from those used by younger or older children. Director understands that a qualified teacher with 3 infant units must be present with the toddlers.

Effective today 12/10/2020, license is granted to serve 24 toddlers ages 18-36 months under a Toddler Option Program.
