Due to COVID-19, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Sharleen Robinson conducted a Tele-inspection with Licensee Maria Almanza to conduct a Case Management Tele-inspection. LPA Met with Licensee via FaceTime. Per Licensee no children are in care. The Licensee toured LPA through the facility inside and out. The following was discussed observed: Normal days and hours of operation are: Monday- Friday 7am- 5pm. Off limit areas are: all bedrooms and garage and laundry area.
  • Children personal rights were not violated during the visit.
  • Appropriate carbon monoxide detector was present.
  • All hazardous items inaccessible, this includes detergents, cleaning compounds, medications and other items which could pose a danger to children
  • Storage of poisons is inaccessible to children and locked
  • There is a properly barricaded fire place
  • No guns or weapons present per Licensee. Licensee understands all guns, weapons and ammunition must be key-locked separately and made inaccessible per Title 22 regulations.
  • Home appeared to be lean and orderly, with heating and ventilation for safety and comfort (thermostat observed to be within appropriate range)
  • There appeared to be safe and appropriate toys and equipment are present for both indoor and outdoor activities.
  • Pediatric CPR and First Aid Card expire on 6/26/21
  • Health & Safety Certificate - completed on file 12/11/2010
  • Licensee has an in-ground pool and spa located in the backyard. Pool is enclosed by 5 ft (+) wrought iron fence with operational self latching gate. (Licensee opened the gate to the pool and spa during the visit, LPA observed the gate self closing and self latching) Licensee understands all bodies of water including ponds, above ground pools & spas, in-ground pools & spas, and some fountains must be properly covered or fenced per Title 22 regulations. In addition, all wading pools or similar product must be emptied immediately after use and stored in an upright position. See LIC809C for the remainder of the report>>>>>>>>>>>>>

  • LPA asked Licensee to show her a sampling of children's records Child#1 file contains: LIC700 emergency information card with required information, LIC627, LIC282, Immunizations, LIC9150,
  • Documentation of fire drills on file: Last drill conducted 2/14/20 per the emergency drill log
  • Criminal record clearances are required prior to all adults living or working in a Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 per day the person has been present, may be assessed. All individuals subject to a criminal record review shall obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption prior to working, residing or volunteering in a licensed home. This was verified on 4/29/20.

LPA discussed the following with the Licensee:
  • 102417(g)(7) Operation of a Family Child Care Home: An emergency information card shall be maintained for each child ... and the parent's authorization for the licensee or registrant to consent to emergency medical care.
  • 102417(g)(9)(A)(1)F Operation of a Family Child Care Home: All homes shall conduct fire and disaster drills at least once every six months and document the date and time of each drill
  • 102423(a)(2) - Personal Rights. Each child shall be accorded safe, healthful and comfortable accommodations, furnishing and equipment.
  • 102423(a)(1) - Personal Rights. Each child receiving services from a family child care home shall be accorded dignity in his/her personal relationships with staff, residents and other persons.
  • 102417(a) - 102417(a) Operation of a Family Child Care Home. The licensee shall be present in the home and shall ensure that children in care are supervised at all times.

No deficiencies. LPA Robinson provided Licensee with a copy of this report and notice of site visit via email with an electronic “read receipt” . The electronic read receipt of the emailed report acknowledges receipt of this report and Notice of Site Visit. A copy of this report was emailed to Licensee during this Tele-inspection on April 30, 2020.
