32 | It was alleged that staff do not adequately supervise children during pick up. LPA toured facility during activities and conducted observations during outdoor activities and naptime. Although it was alleged that staff that are not supervising children during pick-up, LPA learned through interviews with children, staff and parents that staff are present when children are in care.
It was alleged that staff allow unauthorized individuals to pick up daycare children. During the investigation LPA reviewed children files and documents listing authorized individuals. Interviews with children, parents, reporting party and staff were conducted. Although it was alleged that staff allow unauthorized individuals to pick up children, LPA learned through interviews that facility has an authorization policy and procedure. LPA also learned through parent and staff interviews that parents communicate authorizations if changes or exceptions are made prior to pick up.
It was alleged that staff serve food that day care children are allergic to. During the investigation LPA toured kitchen and observed menus posted. LPA interviewed children, parents, reporting party and staff. LPA learned that staff have a list of children's individual allergy filed and posted in kitchen. LPA also observed containers used to distribute meals to classrooms also list child allergies. LPA learned through interviews that parents provide lunch and facility provide snacks.
Due to conflicting information obtained from interviews, observations and documents, LPA was unable to determine violations occurred. As a result, preponderance of evidence was not met and allegations are UNSUBSTANTIATED.
