25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Marea Behvand and Licensing Program Manager (LPM) Roxana Saravia met with Director for the purpose of an unannounced annual random inspection. Director was reminded never to exceed the conditions, limitations, and capacity specified on the license. Upon arrival LPA and LPM observed 53 preschool children with 8 staff members. Facility hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
LPA and LPM toured all classrooms, restrooms, and outdoor play area. LPA and LPM observed the following documents posted: License, Emergency Disaster Plan, Personal Rights, Parents' Rights Poster, menus, and daily schedule. Cleaning disinfectants and hazardous items are appropriately stored and inaccessible to children. Director stated there are no poisons on the premises. Furniture and equipment are in good condition, and toileting facilities are in safe, sanitary, and operating condition. The floors appeared clean throughout the facility. Program provides morning snack.
Drinking water is available indoors and outdoors. LPA observed full legal signatures while reviewing the sign in and sign out sheet. Playground equipment and surfaces are free of loose or sharp parts. There are shaded areas supplied by trees and overhangs. Staff and children's records were reviewed. Each child's file contained an emergency card and a health history. At least one staff member present today has current Pediatric CPR and First Aid certification (exp. 10/2020).
