25 | On Wednesday, March 27, 2024, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Amanda Sutter met Director Denise Halfacre for the purpose of an unannounced required annual inspection. LPA observed 9 children supervised by three staff. All individuals subject to criminal background review have obtained a criminal record clearance. The facility hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 5:45 PM.
LPA toured classroom space, restrooms, kitchen, and outdoor play area. LPA did not observe any documents posted. Director stated that the facility was recently painted and the bulletin board was taken down and they would like to move it but they are not sure where yet. LPA asked when the facility was painted and director stated that it had been about a month. Cleaning disinfectants and hazardous items are appropriately stored and inaccessible to children. Director stated there are no poisons or firearms on the premises. Furniture and equipment are in good condition, and toileting facilities are in safe, sanitary, and operating condition. The provides AM and PM snack.
LPA observed trash bins with tight fitted lids. LPA observed the facility’s electronic sign in and out system and facility roster. Facility has record of conducting fire drills at least every six months. The last fire drill was conducted on October 9, 2024. Playground equipment and surfaces are free of loose or sharp parts, and bark is present under the equipment to provide sufficient cushioning. There are sufficient equipment and toys, and shaded areas are supplied by awnings and trees. Drinking water is readily available to children both indoors and outdoors. LPA observed water bottles for the children, and director stated that bottles are filled using a Brita pitcher inside the facility and drinking fountains outside the facility.
Two staff and four children's records were reviewed. Children’s files were observed to be complete. One staff file observed did not have immunization records. There is at least one staff member present with a current CPR certificate. PAGE 1. REPORT CONTINUES ON LIC809-C
