Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Goodell, met with Director, Gina Queral, for an unannounced Annual Inspection. The Facility’s hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 7:00am to 6:00pm. Upon arrival, LPAs observed 20 children with 4 staff and director. Staff members present during inspection have obtained fingerprint clearance through Community Care Licensing.

LPA toured the facility including all activity/classroom areas, food service area and restrooms. Director stated the facility provides breakfast, morning/afternoon snack and lunch. LPA observed a current menu and activity schedule posted. LPA observed fire extinguisher 3A40BC, smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. LPA observed napping equipment. LPA observed napping mats stored and stacked with napping sheets in contact with the other. Director stated sheets are washed weekly. Director acknowledged that bedding shall be individually stored so that each child's bedding is identifiable and no child's used bedding comes into contact with other bedding. LPA toured the outdoor activity space and observed playground equipment. LPA observed three open windows facing the infant outdoor area from the preschool classroom, with torn window screens. Director stated a maintenance request has been submitted. LPA also observed drinking water is made readily available to children both indoors and outdoors. LPAs observed cleaning compounds are inaccessible to children. Director stated there are no firearms, bodies of water or poisons on the property.

LPA reviewed children’s files. LPA also reviewed staff files. LPA observed that at least one staff member present during today’s inspection has a current Pediatric CPR/First Aid that expires in 8/30/2021. LPAs observed child roster.

LPA obtained the facility’s email address to enroll in Quarterly Updates. In addition, LPA provided the Community Care Licensing’s website www.ccld.ca.gov, so the director can obtain updated licensing information, new regulations, self-assessment guides, and access forms. LPA advised the director of their responsibility to stay current in regards to new regulations.

Title 22 Deficiencies cited on next LIC809-D. LPA reviewed report with the director and provided copies. The Notice of Site Visit issued and must remain posted for 30 days. Appeal Rights also issued and discussed.
