25 | At 10:10 a.m. on Monday, October 24th, 2022, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Karyn Guerra met with TOSA, Meghan Jorgensen for the purpose of an unannounced Required - 1 Year inspection. The Wrap program operates in rooms 2, 3, 4, and 8, the Head Start program operates in room 7, and the Early Head Start program operates in rooms 10 and 11. Operating hours for both programs are 8:00 a.m - 2:30 p.m., Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday, with a minimum day schedule on Thursdays with an 11:45 a.m. dismissal. Toddler program operates from 8:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. LPA observed a census of 83 preschool children supervised by 14 staff, and 13 toddler children supervised by 5 staff.
Criminal record clearance is on file with the district office. TOSA Meghan Jorgensen was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
A health and safety inspection was conducted in the classrooms, restrooms, food service areas, and outdoor play areas. LPA observed the following documents are posted: License, Emergency Disaster Plan, Personal Rights, Parents' Rights Poster, menus, and daily schedule. Cleaning disinfectants and hazardous items are appropriately stored and inaccessible to children. TOSA stated there are no poisons on the premises. Furniture and equipment are in good condition, and toileting facilities are in safe, sanitary, and operating condition. LPA discussed stalled doors and bathroom supervision with TOSA. Bins for solid waste have tight fitting lids. Some stains were observed on area rugs throughout the facility. It was stated that carpets get cleaned twice a year. The facility provides breakfast and lunch. The food preparation space is free of litter and all food was protected against contamination. Drinking water was readily available to children both indoors and outdoors via pitcher, cups, and labeled water bottles. LPA observed full legal signatures of authorized representatives
