25 | On Friday, April 21, 2023, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Amanda Sutter met Site Supervisors Amanda Autsin and Paula Cook for the purpose of an unannounced required annual inspection. LPA observed 98 children supervised by 11 staff. All individuals subject to criminal background review have obtained a criminal record clearance. Facility hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM. When school is in session, children are present 7:00 AM to 7:45 AM and 11:30 AM to 6:00 PM.
LPA toured classroom spaces, restrooms, and outdoor play areas. LPA observed the following documents are posted: License, Parents' Rights Poster, menu, daily schedule, lead testing brochure, and seat belt law. Cleaning disinfectants and hazardous items are appropriately stored and inaccessible to children. Site Supervisors stated there are no poisons or firearms on the premises. Medications are stored appropriately and are inaccessible to children. Furniture and equipment are in good condition, and toileting facilities are in safe, sanitary, and operating condition. The facility provides one snack.
LPA observed trash bins with tight fitted lids. LPA observed the facility’s electronic sign in and out system. Facility has record of conducting fire drills at least every six months; last fire drill was conducted on March 9, 2023. Playground equipment and surfaces are free of loose or sharp parts. There are sufficient equipment and toys, and shaded areas are supplied by trees. Drinking water is readily available to children both indoors and outdoors. Director stated that children bring their own water bottles, which they fill using the a water filling station.
Eleven staff and ten children's records were reviewed. Both staff and children files were observed to be complete. LPA observed the appropriate incidental medical services paperwork. Site Supervisor Austin has a current CPR certificate which expires 11/2/2023.
