25 | Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Seychelle De Luca and Marissa Soto met with Director Tonya Vorobets for an unannounced annual random inspection. Director was reminded never to exceed the conditions, limitations, and capacity specified on the license. LPAs observed 54 napping preschool children and four staff. Facility hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 6:30 AM to 6:00 PM.
LPAs toured all activity and classroom spaces, restrooms, and outdoor play areas. LPAs observed the following documents are posted: License, Emergency Disaster Plan, Personal Rights, Parents' Rights Poster, menus, and daily schedule. Cleaning disinfectants and hazardous items are appropriately stored and inaccessible. Currently, there are no medications on the premises. Director stated there are no poisons on the premises. Furniture and equipment are in good condition, and toileting facilities are in safe, sanitary, and operating condition. The floors appeared clean throughout the facility. LPAs did not inspect the food preparation space today because the kitchen is currently under construction. The facility notified CCL about the construction, and the kitchen should be completed in about two weeks. Food is temporarily being prepared and brought over from an off-site kitchen. Program provides breakfast, lunch, and three snacks.
Drinking water was readily available to children both indoors and outdoors. LPAs observed full legal signatures while reviewing the sign in and sign out sheet. Climbing equipment and surfaces are free of loose or sharp parts. There is a sufficient amount of bark beneath the climbing structure. There is shade supplied by trees and a canopy.
Four staff and five children's records were reviewed. Each child's file contained an emergency card and a medical assessment. At least one staff member present today has current Pediatric CPR and First Aid certification (exp. 02/2020).
Report continues on 809-C.
