25 | At approximately 9:00 AM on Thursday October 27th, 2022, Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Mandie Goodwin and Amanda Blesi met with Master Teacher, Kirsten Garcia , for the purpose of an unannounced 1 year required inspection. Operating hours of the facility are from 7:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m., Monday thru Friday. LPAs toured the facility, at which time a census of 3 school-aged children supervised by two staff was observed.
A health and safety inspection were conducted in the classroom, restroom, and food service area. LPAs observed the following documents are posted: License, Emergency Disaster Plan, Personal Rights, Parents' Rights Poster, menus, required publications, and daily schedule. Cleaning disinfectants and hazardous items are appropriately stored and inaccessible to children. There are currently no medications on site. There are no poisons on the premises. Furniture and equipment are in good condition, and toileting facilities are in sanitary, and operating condition. Bins for solid waste in the kitchen have tight fitting lids. The floors appeared clean throughout the facility.
The children use water bottles for drinking water. There are no firearms or bodies of water on the premises. LPAs observed a functional carbon monoxide detector and smoke detectors. The last emergency disaster drill was conducted 9/22/22
LPAs reviewed staff files. At least one staff member present today has current Pediatric CPR and First Aid certification. LPAs observed immunization records and documentation of the educational background, training, and/or experience. Two teachers have current mandated reporter training. LPAs advised AB 1207 Mandated Reporter training must be renewed every two years and can be renewed at www.mandatedreporterca.com.
