25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Karyn Guerra met with Licensee, Robin Willette, for the purpose of an unannounced annual random inspection. Licensee was reminded never to exceed the conditions, limitations, and capacity specified on the license. At time of arrival, census consisted of 30 napping preschool children supervised by 3 staff. Hours of operation for the facility are 6:30 a.m.-6:30 p.m., Monday thru Friday.
LPA toured the facility including classrooms, restrooms, food service areas, and outdoor play areas. LPA observed the following documents are posted: License, Emergency Disaster Plan, Personal Rights, Parents' Rights Poster, menus, and daily schedule. Cleaning disinfectants and hazardous items are appropriately stored and inaccessible to children. Medications are properly stored. Licensee stated there are no poisons on the premises. Furniture and equipment are in good condition, and toileting facilities are in safe, sanitary, and operating condition. Bins for solid waste have tight fitting lids. The floors appeared clean throughout the facility. The food preparation space is free of litter, and all food was protected against contamination. Program provides lunch and morning and afternoon snack.
There are functional water fountains indoors and outdoors. LPA observed full legal signatures while reviewing the sign in and sign out sheet. Playground equipment and surfaces are free of loose or sharp parts. Licensee stated she is ordering more tanbark to place beneath climbing structure. There is a sufficient amount of outdoor shade provided by trees.
