25 | Application Specialist (AS) Alecia Sifuentes and Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Fabiola Diaz met Director, Veronica Valdovinos for the purpose of an announced case management tele-inspection via FaceTime due to COVID-19. Director requests to add additional classrooms (rooms 12, 14, and 18) to the preschool license which already occupies rooms 1-8 and 11. Director is not making any changes to the capacity. The facility's hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. AS received the approved fire clearance on 11/20/2020.
A virtual health and safety inspection was conducted in all areas accessible to children. There are 12 classrooms total. AS used measurements of rooms 1-8 and 11 from the previous facility evaluation reports. Room #1: 863, Room #2: 868, Room #3: 1,120, Room #4: 1,055, Room #5: 976, Room #6: 821, Room #7: 848, Room #8: 922, and Room #11: 837. Director measured rooms 12, 14, and 18 and AS walked her through the measuring process. Room #12: 808, Room #14: 808, and Room #18: 907.
The total classroom space contains a total of 10,833 square feet, which will accommodate the current capacity of 144 preschool children. There are 14 toilets and 12 sinks available to children, and a separate staff restroom is available. Individual measurements are recorded on the Capacity Worksheet (LIC 9024). Children who become ill during the day will be isolated in the office and will use the staff restroom, if necessary.
AS and LPA observed sufficient amount of furniture, toys, cubbies, and play equipment in the classrooms. AS and LPA observed a functional carbon monoxide detector in each classroom. AS and LPA observed disinfectants are inaccessible and appropriately stored. AS and LPA observed sign-in/sign-out binders.
