Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Martinez conducted an unannounced complaint visit and met with Director Carrie Robinson. It was alleged staff are not following proper COVID-19 mask Guidance, Staff with symptoms of illness are allowed to provide care and supervision to children in care, and the facility is unsanitary. The previous Director denied the allegation and advised LPA Martinez they had a recent staff issue between a previous staff member and the currently employed School Age staff member. On 2/2/22 LPA conducted interviews with three staff who corroborated a recent staff had quit and that the ex staff member was upset with the school age teacher. Interviews corroborated that the ex staff member advised individuals to call licensing on the staff member and file complaints. The staff member (S1) in the classroom received a call from the ex staff questioning their recent absence from the facility. S1 did advise LPA Martinez of their previous sick leave due to COVID-19 but also stated they were out of the facility sick for 5 days and were allowed to return based on the CDC guidance for COVID-19 quarantine. S1 stated there were called by the ex staff and during that call was caughing. According to S1 the ex staff member questioned their lingering cough from their COVID-19 illness and if they had been around children. (cont.)

S1 stated to LPA Martinez that during that phone call with the ex staff they advised them they had been cleared to come back to work and provided a negative test. Additional interviews stated that a parent was later called by the ex staff and told a staff was in the facility who was currently ill. The previous Director stated the allegation was false and taken out of context and wrongfully shared with parents. S1 stated masks are worn by all staff including themselves per CDC and Kindercare guidelines in the classroom and in the facility. On previous visits to the facility on 12/29/21, 1/7/22, and 2/2/22 all staff were observed wearing masks appropriately and correctly over their nose and mouth by LPA Martinez. During today's visit a classroom tour was conducted of the school age room although there were no children in care as they were in school. The classroom appeared clean and sanitary and there were cleaning supplies for disinfecting the tables and room readily available for use. Although the allegations may have happened or are valid, there is not a preponderance of evidence to prove the alleged violations did or did not occur, therefore the allegations are unsubstantiated.

Notice of Site Visit must be posted for 30 days. No citations were issued during today's inspection.
