At 10:15 a.m. on Wednesday, May 4th, 2022, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Karyn Guerra met with Director, Dawna Allred, for the purpose of a complaint inspection and to deliver findings. It was alleged that staff is rough with day care children. There was a concern about toddler children being lifted by the biceps with a tight grasp. Throughout the course of the investigation, LPA conducted interviews and made observations. LPA did observe children being lifted by the bicep. Children did not appear to be in discomfort. Director stated that a training was conducted regarding proper lifting technique of under the armpit, bending at the knees. There was conflicting information received during interviews. There was a second allegation that staff allows day care children to fall. There was a concern that children were being placed in positions that they were not developmentally ready for when being placed back on the ground. LPA conducted interviews and made observations. classroom teachers for how to properly place a child down based on readiness. In the event that a child is accidentally placed in a position they are not ready for, they will assist the child and console if necessary. The allegations are found to be unsubstantiated. Although the alleged violations may have occurred or are valid, there is not a preponderance of evidence to fully prove or disprove that the events did or did not occur, therefore, they are unsubstantiated. An exit interview was conducted. A notice of site visit was provided. Notice of site visit shall remain posted for 30 days.
