25 | Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Seychelle De Luca and Fabiola Diaz met with Fully Qualified Teacher Leanne Rae for the purpose of an unannounced annual random inspection. Teacher on Special Assignment (TOSA) Lena Saunders arrived during the inspection. TOSA was reminded never to exceed the conditions, limitations, and capacity specified on the license. LPAs observed 18 preschool children with three staff members in Room #3 and 18 preschool children with three staff members and one parent volunteer in Room #36. Facility hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM and 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM in Room #3, and program follows the school calendar. Facility hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM in Room #36, and program operates year-round.
LPAs toured both classrooms, restrooms, and outdoor play area. TOSA stated there are no poisons on the premises. Medications, toxic and hazardous items are inaccessible to children. Furniture and equipment are in good condition. Playground equipment and surfaces are free of loose or sharp parts. The areas around or under climbing equipment are cushioned with bark to absorb the fall.
Toileting facilities are in safe, sanitary, and operating condition. The floors appeared clean throughout the facility. Storage containers with solid waste have tight-fitting covers. Full day program provides breakfast, lunch, and supper and part day program provides lunch for both sessions. Food is prepared by the school's cafeteria. Menus were posted and drinking water was readily available to children both indoors and outdoors. LPAs observed full legal signatures while reviewing the sign in and sign out sheet.
Six staff and five children's records were reviewed. Each child's file contained an emergency card and a medical assessment. At least one staff member present today has current Pediatric CPR and First Aid certification (exp. 6/8/2020).
