Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Kelly Ferrara conducted a Capacity Increase Inspection and met with Director Parveen Malhi. The facility is requesting to increase the capacity for the school age classrooms from 23 to 42 children. During the inspection, there were 15 children present with one teacher providing supervision which meant that they were over ratio. LPA observed that the facility had the following documents posted: Parents Rights, Personal Rights, Car Seat Law, Emergency Disaster Plan and Earthquake Checklist.

INDOOR SPACE
LPA observed the school age area which is separated into four separate classrooms by a wall with an entry way. The first three classrooms are currently being used for school age children and the facility would like to make the fourth classroom available for children as well. LPA inspected the fourth classroom and observed that it was safe and sanitary with appropriate items for school age children. LPA observed two toilets and two sinks and a drinking fountain in the classroom which were all in operating condition. LPA advised the Director that the school age children must have individual privacy while using the bathroom. LPA observed the entire school age area to be in compliance during today's inspection, however LPA observed that the kitchen door in the hallway was propped open and there were cleaning products that were accessible to children. The door was closed and locked immediately.

The existing three school age rooms and additional fourth classroom were each measured. Room 1: 459.24 square feet, Room 2: 513.59 square feet, Room 3: 652.8 square feet, and Room 4: 882.5 square feet. All four rooms measured a total of 2,508.13 square feet which will accommodate the requested increase in capacity. LPA obtained a fire clearance from Folsom Fire Department.

OUTDOOR ACTIVITY SPACE:
The playground is equipped with age appropriate materials and there is shade provided by a stand alone canopy. There is drinking water available by fountain or a water jug that is brought outside with cups.
