Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Kelly Ferrara conducted a Capacity Increase Inspection and met with Director Parveen Malhi. The facility is requesting to increase their school age capacity from 42 to 70 children. During today's inspection, there were 13 school age children present being supervised by two staff. A census was taken in each classroom at the facility and LPA observed that they were compliant regarding ratios.

INDOOR SPACE
LPA inspected the four school age classrooms and all were clean with appropriate furnishings and toys for children. LPA observed an adequate amount of toilets and sinks for children's use which were all in operable condition. LPA used previous measurements taken during the previous capacity increase inspection done on July 19th, 2019. Room 1: 459.24 square feet, Room 2: 513.59 square feet, Room 3: 652.8 square feet, and Room 4: 882.5 square feet. All four rooms measured a total of 2,508.13 square feet which would accommodate the requested increase in capacity. However, LPA obtained a fire clearance from Folsom Fire Department which stated that the facility can have a maximum capacity of 60 school age children.

OUTDOOR ACTIVITY SPACE:
The playground is equipped with age appropriate materials and there is adequate shade and drinking water available. The outdoor playground was previously measured and is a total of 3,758 square feet which would only accommodate 50 children. LPA requested that the Director send a waiver request to share the playground space.

This report was reviewed with the Director and Notice of Site was provided and posted. Director understands it must remain posted for 30 days for parental review. Director was encouraged to visit the Department's website at WWW.CCLD.CA.GOV for child care updates, current forms, legislation and regulation information.

As of today September 11th, 2019, the facility is approved to operate with a capacity of 60 children.
