25 | Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Seychelle De Luca and Tanya Washington met with Director Michelle Lee for the purpose of an unannounced annual random inspection. Director was reminded never to exceed the conditions, limitations, and capacity specified on the license. Upon arrival LPAs observed 14 napping preschool children with Director and three staff members. Facility hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
LPAs toured all classrooms, restrooms, kitchen, and outdoor play area. LPAs observed the following documents are posted: License, Emergency Disaster Plan, Personal Rights, Parents' Rights Poster, menus, and daily schedule. Cleaning disinfectants and hazardous items are appropriately stored and inaccessible to children. Currently, no children require medications. Director stated there are no poisons on the premises. Furniture and equipment are in good condition, and toileting facilities are in safe, sanitary, and operating condition. The floors appeared clean throughout the facility. The kitchen is free of litter, and all food was protected against contamination. Program provides morning snack, lunch, and afternoon snack.
Drinking water is available indoors and outdoors. LPAs observed full legal signatures while reviewing the sign in and sign out sheet. Playground equipment and surfaces are free of loose or sharp parts. There are shaded areas supplied by canopies and trees. Staff and children's records were reviewed. Each child's file contained an emergency card and a health history. At least one staff member present today has current Pediatric CPR and First Aid certification (exp. 11/17/2020).
