25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Goodell met with Director Bethel Rusch for an unannounced Annual Inspection. LPA observed 19 children in the 4 year old classroom with 2 staff and 25 children in the outdoor area with 4 staff. LPA observed all staff present during inspection have obtained criminal record clearances through Community Care Licensing. The facility's hours of operation are Monday- Friday, 6:30am- 6:00pm.
The staff stated that the facility provides breakfast, morning/afternoon snack and lunch. LPA observed a current menu and activity schedule posted. LPA toured the facility including three activity/classroom areas, furniture, equipment, food service area and restrooms. LPA observed the electronic sign/in-sign/out. The facility had medications centrally stored and inaccessible to children. LPA observed cleaning compounds are also stored inaccessible to children. LPA observed fire extinguisher, smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. LPA toured the outdoor area and observed play equipment. Drinking water is made readily available to children both indoors and outdoors. LPA observed the nap equipment. Staff stated bedding is laundered weekly. Staff and children's records were reviewed. Each child's file contained an emergency card and a medical assessment. At least one staff member present today has current Pediatric CPR and First Aid certification that expires on 05/2020. Child Roster and Fire/Emergency Drill log was observed. LPA provided the Community Care Licensing’s website www.ccld.ca.gov, so the director can obtain updated licensing information, new regulations, self-assessment guides, and access forms. LPA advised the director of their responsibility to stay current in regards to new regulations.
No deficiencies cited. Report reviewed and discussed with director. Notice of cite visit issued and must remain posted for 30 days. |
