25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Kelly Ferrara met with Director Sandra Haines for an unannounced annual inspection on September 2nd, 2021. At 11 AM, LPA toured the facility including all activity and classroom spaces, restrooms, food service and outdoor play areas. Appropriate ratio and care and supervision were observed during today's inspection. Census included 103 preschool children being supervised by 11 staff. Director was reminded never to exceed the conditions, limitations and capacity specified on the license. Facility hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM.
Classrooms all appeared clean including the carpets and floor. Chemicals were kept inaccessible to children in a high cabinet. Playground equipment and surfaces were inspected and are in good condition with enough resilient material under climbing structures to absorb a fall. Uncontaminated drinking water was readily available to children both indoors and outdoors. Bathrooms were clean and all sinks and toilets were in operating condition. There are no firearms or bodies of water on the premises and the facility has at least one functioning smoke and carbon monoxide detector. Menus were posted for AM and PM snack and the children are provided lunches. LPA observed all required licensing documentation was posted for parental review. LPA observed that parents are signing their children in and out of the center electronically. LPA discussed current Covid guidelines with the Director.
At 11:40 AM, a sample of children and staff files were reviewed. Each child's file had the required licensing documentation. LPA reviewed staff transcripts and observed all staff caring for infants were qualified. At least one staff had a current Pediatric CPR and First Aid certification that expires January 2022. Staff all have current Mandated Reporter certificates and proof of immunizations. LPA observed a current children's roster and a fire drill log. Each classroom is equipped with First Aid equipment.
