25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Goodell, met with Director, Darlene Thompson, for an unannounced Annual Inspection. The Facility’s hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 7:00am to 5:00pm. Upon arrival, LPAs observed 17 children with 2 staff and director in room #18. LPA also observed 24 children in the outdoor area with 4 teachers and 2 aides. Staff members present during inspection have obtained fingerprint clearance through the Twin Rivers Unified School District.
LPA toured the facility including classrooms #12, 14 and 18. LPA observed several classrooms rugs with stains and shredded edges. Staff stated carpets are vacuumed daily and cleaned every six months. Staff also stated a request to remove stains and replace rugs will be requested. LPA also toured restrooms. Director stated school district provides breakfast, lunch and afternoon meal. LPA did not observed a fridge or microwave in classroom #18. LPA observed fridge in both classroom #12 and #14. LPA observed a current menu and activity schedule posted. LPA observed fire extinguisher 3A40BC, smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. LPA observed napping equipment. LPA observed napping mats and sheets stored individually. Director stated sheets are washed weekly. LPA toured the outdoor activity space and observed playground equipment. LPA observed drinking water is made readily available to children both indoors and outdoors. LPA observed cleaning compounds and medication are stored inaccessible to children. LPA reviewed children and staff files. LPA observed that at least one staff member present during today’s inspection has a current Pediatric CPR/First Aid that expires in 6/7/21. LPA observed child roster and fire drill logs are maintained. LPA obtained the facility’s email address to enroll in Quarterly Updates. In addition, LPA provided the Community Care Licensing’s website www.ccld.ca.gov, so the director can obtain updated licensing information, new regulations, self-assessment guides, and access forms. LPA advised the director of their responsibility to stay current in regards to new regulations.
Title 22 Deficiency cited on next LIC809-D. LPA reviewed report with the director and provided copies. The Notice of Site Visit issued and must remain posted for 30 days. Appeal Rights also issued and discussed. |
