25 | On May 13, 2022 at 8:40 AM, Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Amanda Sutter and Alize Tillery met with Director Shanel Tate for the purpose of an unannounced annual inspection. Upon arrival, LPAs observed five infants in the “Baby” room supervised by two staff and seven toddlers in the toddler room supervised by three staff. Facility hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 5:45 AM to 5:30 PM. Annual fees are not current.
LPAs toured all activity and classroom spaces (infant classrooms 1 and 2, and toddler classrooms 4), the kitchen area, the napping areas, and the outdoor play area. LPA observed the following documents are posted: License, Emergency Disaster Plan, Personal Rights, Parents' Rights Poster, menus, and daily schedule. Cleaning disinfectants and hazardous items are appropriately stored and inaccessible to children. There are no bodies of water, poisons, or firearms on the premises. Furniture and equipment are in good condition and the floors appeared to be clean throughout the facility. Director was reminded that sheets on cots and mattresses need to be changed daily. While touring infant classroom two, LPAs observed a cockroach in a refrigerator. No children were present in the classroom. Toileting facilities are in safe and sanitary. Two out of three toilets observed were in operating condition. LPAs observed four changing tables in arms reach of a sink. LPAs reminded director to ensure that bottles and food are labeled with both name and date and stored in the refrigerator. Food preparation space is free of litter, all food was protected against contamination, and storage containers with solid waste have covers. The program provides breakfast, lunch, and snack.
Drinking water is readily available to children both indoors and outdoors. LPAs observed children’s personal cups. LPAs observed the electric sign in and sign out sheet. Program uses a tablet and app called ProCare, which also used to communicate with parents. Playground equipment and surfaces are free of loose or sharp parts. There is rubber cushion beneath the playground equipment in the outdoor play area. There are sufficient equipment and toys. Shaded areas are supplied by the building.
