25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Seychelle De Luca met with Head Teacher Janet Wong for the purpose of an unannounced case management inspection. Licensee requests to increase from a capacity of 20 preschool children to 60 preschool children. LPA received the fire clearance on 8/13/2019.
A health and safety inspection was conducted in all areas accessible to children. LPA did not measure the indoor space during today's inspection. LPA used the indoor measurement from the report dated 9/25/2018. The total indoor space for the Netta Sparks Multipurpose Room is 2,819.48 square feet. This will accommodate Licensee's request for 60 preschool age children. There are five toilets, one urinal, and four sinks available for children's use. The two bathrooms are located outside of the Multipurpose Room. Head Teacher stated that children will have exclusive use of the women's bathroom that is located to the left of the Multipurpose Room. LPA observed a sufficient amount of cubbies, chairs, and tables. LPA did not measured the outdoor space during today's inspection. LPA used the outdoor measurement from the report dated 10/2/2009. The total outdoor space is 4419 square feet. This will not accommodate Licensee's request for 60 preschool age children. Individual measurements are recorded on the Capacity Worksheet (LIC 9024).
Head Teacher was encouraged to visit the Department's website at WWW.CCLD.CA.GOV for child care updates, current forms, legislation and regulation information. A copy of this report will remain on file for a period of three years for public review upon request. An exit interview was conducted and in the areas that were evaluated, no deficiencies were observed at the time of the inspection. A Notice of Site Visit was provided and should remain posted for 30 days for parental review. LPA provided and discussed Effects of Lead Exposure brochure and new immunization card.
CONDITION REQUIRING CORRECTION PRIOR TO APPROVING INCREASE:
1. Licensee will request an outdoor space waiver, which indicates no more than 58 children may be outside at any time. Licensee will submit the rotating outdoor schedule with this waiver request. |
