Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Rosie Pitts met with Enrollment Director Erwina Pascual-Golamco for the purpose of an unannounced annual random inspection. Director Jill Mcgraw-Lindeman arrived during the course of the visit. Director was reminded never to exceed the conditions, limitations and capacity specified on the license. Census included 8 school-age children supervised by 1 staff. Facility operates Monday-Friday from 6:30 AM until 6:00 PM.

LPA toured all activity and classroom spaces, restrooms, food service, and outdoor play area Director stated there are no poisons on the premises. Toxic and hazardous items are inaccessible to children. Furniture and equipment are in good condition. Playground equipment and surfaces are free of loose or sharp parts. The areas around or under climbing equipment are cushioned with wood chips to absorb the fall. Toileting facilities are in safe, sanitary and operating condition. The floors appeared clean throughout the facility. The food preparation space is free of litter and all food was protected against contamination. Storage containers with solid waste have tight-fitting covers. The facility provides breakfast, lunch and snack for school age children in care. Menus were posted and drinking water was readily available to children both indoors and outdoors. There are no firearms or bodies of water on the premises. Facility utilizes electronic sign-in and out system, in case of power outage or system malfunction, facility utilizes a classroom roster for manual sign in and out.

Staff and children's records were reviewed. Each child's file contained an emergency card and a medical assessment. At least one staff member present today has current Pediatric CPR and First Aid certification (exp. 05/2020). AB 1207 Mandated Reporter Training was verified. The OCAP modules are free of cost and available at: http://www.mandatedreporterca.com/ The licensee understands that the training must be completed every two years and proof of completion must remain in the facility’s file. All staff currently employed with the facility have a criminal record clearance, health screening report, and documentation of the educational background, training, and/or experience.

This facility provides Incidental Medical Services (IMS). LPAs reviewed storage of medication and equipment/supplies, and reviewed children’s, personnel, and administrative records. For IMS information, see "Regulation Interpretations and Procedures for Family Child Care Homes Section 102417" in the Evaluator Manual. When any IMS is provided, a Plan for Providing IMS must be submitted to the Department. LPA discussed and provided the “Effects of Lead Exposure” brochures and advised the enrollment director to share the brochures with parents. LPA discussed Safe Sleep and issued the Healthy Schools Act survey. This facility evaluation report was reviewed and discussed with Director. A Notice of Site Visit was provided and should remain posted for a period of 30 days for parental review. Director was encouraged to the visit the department's website at WWW.CCLD.CA.GOV for information regarding child care updates, forms, regulations and legislation pertaining to child care centers. In the areas that were evaluated, no deficiencies were observed at the time of the visit.
