25 | On Tuesday, September 16, 2025, Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Amanda Sutter and Kyrsten Williams met with Site Supervisor Hiba Behnam and ECE Program Specialist Anjanette Toy for the purpose of an unannounced required annual inspection. Upon arrival, LPAs observed 53 children supervised by 12 staff in four different classrooms. All individuals subject to criminal background review have obtained a criminal record clearance. The facility hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM in classrooms 34 and 35, and 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM in classrooms 36 and 37.
LPAs toured classroom space and outdoor play area. LPAs observed the following documents are posted: License, Parents' Rights Poster, Child Personal Rights, Seat Belt Law, Menu, Daily Schedule, Earthquake checklist, and Emergency Disaster Plan. LPA observed a functional carbon monoxide detector and full 2A10BC fire extinguisher. Cleaning disinfectants and hazardous items are appropriately stored and inaccessible to children. Site Supervisor stated there are no poisons or firearms on the premises. Furniture and equipment are in good condition, and toileting facilities are in safe, sanitary, and operating condition. The facility provides breakfast, lunch, and supper, which is prepared in the elementary school kitchen. A snack is also provided during school breaks.
LPAs observed trash bins with tight fitted lids. The facility uses an electronic sign in and out system. Facility has record of conducting fire drills at least every six months. The last fire drill was conducted on September 11, 2025. LPAs observed some caution tape on the playground structure and lifted rubber padding on the walkway of the climbing structure. Site Supervisor stated that a work order has been placed and the play structure should be fixed soon. Bark is present under the equipment to provide sufficient cushioning. There is sufficient equipment and toys, and shaded areas are supplied by shade cloth. Drinking water is readily available to children both indoors and outdoors. LPAs observed children’s water bottles using water jugs.
