25 | On Friday, August 12, 2022 at 11:30 am, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Amanda Sutter met with Director, Julia Fiffick for the purpose of an unannounced required annual inspection. Director stated that there are no children present at the facility. Director stated that the preschool is currently closed due to teacher in service and will reopen on the first day of school next week, 8/15/2022. The facility hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
LPAs toured two classroom spaces, restroom, and outdoor play area. LPAs observed the following documents are posted: License, Emergency Disaster Plan, Personal Rights, Parents' Rights Poster, and seat belt law. Cleaning disinfectants and hazardous items are appropriately stored and inaccessible to children. Director stated that they do not currently have medication at the facility. Director stated there are no poisons or firearms on the premises. Furniture and equipment are in good condition, and toileting facilities are in safe, sanitary and operating condition. The program provides a morning and afternoon snack. LPA observed food to be stored and labeled appropriately.
LPAs observed trash bins with tight fitted lids. Drinking water is readily available to children both indoors and outdoors. Director stated that children bring their own water bottles and are refilled at the facility. LPAs observed the facility’s paper sign in and out system. Facility has record of conducting fire drills at least every six months; last fire drill was conducted in June 1, 2022. LPA discussed maintaining playground equipment with director. Director stated that next week, 8/15/2022, the facility will be receiving new bark provide sufficient cushioning. There are sufficient equipment and toys, and there are shaded areas supplied by trees. Children take their water bottles outside.
Four staff and three children's records were reviewed. Both children and staff files were observed to be complete. There is at least one staff member present with a current CPR certificate. LPAs observed a functional smoke detector and fire extinguisher. PAGE 1. REPORT CONTINUES ON LIC809-C
