25 | At approximately 9:00AM on September 16th, 2022 Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Mandie Goodwin and Karyn Guerra met with Director Vanessa Silva for the purpose of an unannounced 1 year required inspection. Operating hours of the facility are from 7:00 a.m.-5:30 p.m., Monday thru Friday. Director guided LPAs on a tour of the facility, at which time a census of 20 preschool children supervised by four staff was observed.
A health and safety inspection was conducted in the classrooms, restrooms, food service areas, and outdoor play areas. LPAs observed the following documents are posted: License, Emergency Disaster Plan, Personal Rights, Parents' Rights Poster, menus, and daily schedule. Cleaning disinfectants and hazardous items are appropriately stored and inaccessible to children. Medications are stored out of reach and inaccessible to children. Furniture and equipment are in good condition, and toileting facilities are in sanitary, and operating condition. Bins for solid waste have tight fitting lids. The floors appeared clean throughout the facility.
There are functional water fountains indoors, and pitchers of water available outside. Children also have labeled water bottles. Playground equipment and surfaces are free of loose or sharp parts. Outdoor shade is provided by shade sails, and sides of buildings. There are no firearms or bodies of water on the premises. LPAs observed a functional carbon monoxide detector and fire extinguishers. Disaster drills have been conducted and documented.
LPAs reviewed staff files. At least one staff member present today has current Pediatric CPR and First Aid certification. LPAs observed immunization records and documentation of the educational background, training, and/or experience. LPAs observed current AB 1207 mandated reporter training certificates for all staff.
