25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Jan Hoshida, conducted an unannounced random annual inspection today. Lead Teacher, Chandra Livsey, was present upon LPA’s arrival. Director, Jacqueline Wyse, was notified, arrived and LPA met with Director. Upon arrival, there were 25 children with seven staff members. A tour of the facility was conducted inside and outside in Room 7 and 8. The following areas are in compliance during the visit. There are no bodies of water. Firearms and ammunition are not on the premises. Storage for poisons are locked. Disinfectants, hazardous items and medications are inaccessible to children. Furniture and equipment are sufficient, age appropriate and in good repair. Fire drills are conducted and documented at least every six months. Carbon Monoxide detectors were present. The playground equipment and outdoor activity space is maintained and in good condition. Wood chips are being used as cushioning around the climbing equipment and level is sufficient to absorb a fall. Children's toilets, hand washing facilities are sanitary. Floors are clean and free of debris. Food preparation area is clean, food is protected from contamination, storage containers for solid waste are covered and all food or beverages are stored in covered containers and labeled. Drinking water is available both indoors and outside. Menus are posted. The facility is in compliance with conditions and limitations specified on the license. Sign in/sign out sheets are maintained. First Aid/CPR reviewed and in compliance. Emergency information reviewed for some children. Some staff records were reviewed.
The center is open Mondays through Fridays during the academic school year and conducts a morning class from 8:00am to 11:00am and an afternoon class from 11:45am to 2:45pm and the children do not take naps. The center provides lunch and breakfast through the food services provided by Folsom Cordova Unified School District. All staff present had evidence of current criminal background clearances and/or associations through the Folsom Cordova Unified School District.
