25 | Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Amy Silva and Seychelle De Luca met with Director Corrin Ures to conduct an unannounced Case Management visit for the purpose of adding a school-age option to include 12 school-age children. Facility currently has a capacity of 84 preschool children. Community Care Licensing requested and received a fire clearance on 10/10/19 clearing the facility for 72 preschool children and 12 school-age children to equal a capacity of 84 children. Upon arrival, there were three staff and 17 children present.
LPAs toured the room to be used for school-age indoor activity space, including a separate bathroom that has a door for privacy. The school-age children will use the outdoor black top for outdoor activities. Director acknowledges that facility staff must follow the manufacturer guidelines and safety labels for all equipment and furniture.
Director and staff understand that the ratio is one teacher to every 12 children. Director acknowledges that preschool and school-age children may not engage in activities that are incompatible with their ages.
As of today 10/23/19, LPA Silva is granting the request to add the school-age option. A new license will be created and sent to the facility reflecting the changes. There shall be no more than 12 school-age children included in the current total capacity (84 children) at any one time.
A Notice of Site Visit was posted. An exit interview was conducted and in the areas that were evaluated, no deficiencies were observed at the time of the inspection. |
