25 | Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Alize Tillery and Tanya Washington met with Administrator Rachel Kennedy for the purpose of an unannounced required 1 year annual inspection. Upon arrival, LPA observed 19 preschool children, supervised by 2 staff. The facility hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
LPAs toured all activity and classroom spaces (Jr-K classroom), restrooms and one outdoor play area. LPA observed the following documents are posted: License, Emergency Disaster Plan, Personal Rights, Parents' Rights Poster, and daily schedule. Cleaning disinfectants, medications and hazardous items are appropriately stored and inaccessible to children. Director stated there are no poisons, bodies of water or firearms on the premises. Furniture and equipment are in good condition, and toileting facilities are in safe, sanitary and operating condition. The floors appeared clean throughout the facility and program only provides snacks.
Drinking water is readily available to children both indoors and outdoors. Director stated that children bring their own drinking water bottles, which are used both indoors and outdoors, and filtered water is available. LPAs reminded Administrator to ensure that the outside water jug is cleaned daily and checked before use. LPAs observed the facility’s sign in and out sheet, a complete Children’s roster, and current fire drill log. Playground equipment and surfaces are free of loose or sharp parts. There are sufficient equipment and toys. There are shaded areas supplied by a tent. LPAs observed two loose fence boards; Administrator stated that she has submitted a maintenance request to have the boards fixed.
