Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Gagandeep Singh met with the Principal, Patricia Hecht, and staff, Stella Cockerham, for an annual inspection. Purpose of the inspection was explained. Present, there are no day care children. Facility operate day care at school site from Monday to Thursday between 8 AM TO 11:30 PM and 12:15 PM to 2:45 PM. On Fridays, facility only operated between 12:15 PM to 2:45 PM.

With staff, LPA inspected the day care areas. There are no pools, spas or other bodies of water at the facility. Facility has smoke detector, smog detector, fully charged fire extinguisher, first aid supplies and working telephone at the site. All of the cleaning solutions, poisons and other chemicals that are dangerous to the children are stored inaccessible to the children. Facility has age appropriate furniture. Furniture is steady and in good repair. Facility floor is in good repair and free of any hazards. All toilets, hand washing facilities are in working condition with proper sanitation in place. All storage containers for solid waste and in good repair and have proper lid on top. Facility has drinking water available for children. Play yard is free of hazards. All of the play structures are steady, in good repair and free of any loose parts. There is sufficient amount of wood chips under the play structures to prevent any fall injuries.

LPA observed the facility has license and other required documents posted and are visible for public. LPA observed the present staff member has record of CPR training valid until December 2021. LPA reminded the facility staff that a person may not be employed or volunteer at a child care facility unless he or she has been immunized against influenza, pertussis, and measles. LPA observed the record of immunization on file.

LPA also reminded that all staff is required to complete Mandated Reporter Training every two years. The training can be obtained online at www.mandatedreporterca.com. The current staff member has the completion certificate on file. See next page for continuation ..............
