25 | On Thursday, March 24th, 2022 at 12:15 PM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Tanya Washington conducted an unannounced Required 1 year annual inspection and met with Licensee, Liliya Shevchuk. LPA observed care and supervision of five day-care children. The off-limit areas include: garage and garden area. Licensee also requested to place the last bedroom on the left side of the hallway as off limits. LPA will update the license comments upon return to the office and send an updated license. Licensee acknowledged that children may never enter these off-limit areas. Licensee stated there are no new residents in the home since licensure. The hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 6:00 AM to 5:30 PM.
LPA observed current CPR/First Aid certificate for Licensee which expires in April, 2023. LPA reviewed all files for children who were present during the inspection. LPA observed that there were no hazardous items accessible to children. The fireplace in the home is properly barricaded. LPA observed that cleaning materials were inaccessible. Fire extinguisher, smoke detector, and carbon monoxide detector meet regulation. Toys appear to be safe. There are no bodies of water on the premises. Licensee stated that there are no weapons in the home. LPA discussed current COVID guidelines with Licensee.
LPA observed a current fire drill log and children’s roster. Licensee's Mandated Reporter Training certification is valid until 11/11/2023. LPA explained that the OCAP modules are free of cost and available at: http://www.mandatedreporterca.com/. Licensee understands that the certificate must be renewed every two years.
Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
