On 01/12/2023 at 2:00 PM., Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Arianna Manabat met with Licensee for an unannounced annual / one year inspection. During the time of arrival there were two care children were present. Present today was the Licensee and her assistant. All individuals subject to criminal background review have obtained a criminal record clearance.

The home is a one story home and on-limit areas are the front living room space. Licensee stated there are no firearms or bodies of water on the premises. A health and safety inspection was conducted in the areas accessible to children. The house has a working telephone, fully charged fire extinguisher, smoke detector and carbon monoxide detector that meet regulations. LPA observed all the required postings. LPA advised the licensee that if there are any poisons at the home, all poisons must be locked with a key lock or combination lock.

LPA observed a barricaded fireplace. Licensees have all of their immunization records current and was reminded to keep a file present within the facility. Children's roster was observed. Licensee’s CPR/First aid card had an expiration date of 12/2024

Licensee had a Mandated Reporter training which expired in 2024. The licensee has been informed of the two year requirement for the Mandated reporter training. During today’s inspection, LPA observed a fire drill log in the facility records. The last date was December 2022. Licensee is aware that they need to complete a drill at least every six months.

Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see Evaluator Manual - Regulation Interpretations and Procedures for Child Care Centers Sections 101173 and 101226. When any IMS is provided, an updated Plan of Operation that includes IMS must be submitted to the Department. Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.

A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. Failure to comply with posting requirements shall result in an immediate civil penalty of $100. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the Licensee.
