13 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Christopher Bello arrived at the facility at approximately 8:45am and met with licensee Deanie Guerin to close a complaint investigation, regarding the above allegations. Upon arrival, LPAs observed seven Children with the licensee and licensee’s sister acting as an assistant. It was alleged that the licensee yelled at a daycare child and handled them roughly. During the investigation LPA gathered documents pertaining to the investigation, made observations and conducted interviews. Two out of the five parent interview corroborated the allegations. Staff interviews were inconsistent with the allegations. Although the allegation may have happened or is valid, there is not a preponderance of evidence to prove the alleged violation did or did not occur, therefore the allegation is Unsubstantiated.
Deanie stated that she has never raised her voice at a daycare child in 36 years. Deanie stated that she does elevate her voice to get the attention of the child, but has never yelled at a child. Deanie stated that she would not allow herself or anyone working with her to rough handle a child.
There were no Title 22 deficiencies during today’s investigation. An exit interview was conducted and a Notice of Site Visit posted. |
