On October 27, 2022 at approximately 2:00 PM, Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Mandie Goodwin and Amanda Blesi met with Licensee Alyce Taylor, for the purpose of an unannounced required 1-year inspection. Licensee’s assistant is also home today. All individuals subject to criminal background review have obtained a criminal record clearance. LPAs observed a total census of 7 children. Facility days and hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM until 6:30 PM.

Licensee guided LPAs on a tour of the facility and a health and safety inspection was conducted in all areas accessible to children. The off-limits areas include the all bedrooms, garage, and laundry room. Licensee acknowledged that children must never enter these areas. LPAs observed the required postings, a working phone, a 2A10BC fire extinguisher, and smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. Per Licensee, there are no weapons in the home. No bodies of water were observed today. Toxic and hazardous items are inaccessible to children. Fireplace is barricaded to prevent access by children. Outdoor play space is fenced and outdoor equipment is in good repair. Play structure is age appropriate and securely affixed to the ground.

LPAs reviewed a sample of children’s files, which were observed to be complete. Required postings and the children’s roster were observed. Licensee and all other adult files were observed to be complete. LPAs observed licensee’s CPR and First Aid card which expires 6/8/23.

LPAs discussed the requirement of renewing mandated reporter training every 2 years for child care providers, at mandatedreporterca.com. LPAs reviewed and provided the Family Child Care Home Entrance Checklist.
