Licensing Program Analysts (LPA) Michelle Pascual, met with the Director Sandra Ford on January 26th, at approximately 10:20 AM to provide the finding for the above allegations. There were 56 children and 14 teachers. During the course of the investigation LPA Pascual reviewed childcare policies, obtained relevant documentation, interviewed children, parents, and staff; and conducted observations in all classrooms.
The complaint alleged that “staff force children to take naps, staff do not supervise children during nap time and staff stack crates with toys in the nap room that have the potential to fall."
Upon interviewing the Director and the three preschool staff present at the time, LPA found that children are supervised during nap time and staff adhere to a schedule to ensure supervision. When LPA spoke to the children, LPA found that children see staff present during nap time.

Based on the interviews conducted, no child stated they were made to take a nap. Children, staff and parents stated children are told to “remain quiet and rest” if they During a tour of the preschool classrooms, LPA did not find any potential hazards with the crates of toys. All classrooms were in a tidy order. LPA was unable to validate any of the allegations.

Based on the conflicting information obtained throughout the course of this investigation the above allegation could not be substantiated or dismissed. Although the allegations may have happened (or is valid), there is not a preponderance of the evidence to prove the alleged violations did or did not occur, therefore the findings are UNSUBSTANTIATED.

An exit interview was conducted with the Director.
