25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Chayntel Hunter met with Licensee Fatmata Binta Maju on 9/23/19 at 2:25 PM for the purpose of an unannounced annual random inspection. Census at the time of inspection was one child, age two . Licensee's operating hours are Monday through Friday from 6:00 AM. to 6:00 PM.
The Licensee and Licensee's spouse and other children have obtained a criminal record clearance. The Licensee's adult child (A1) has not obtained a criminal record clearance and resides in the home. The Licensee will have the adult child obtain the required live scan for a criminal record review.
A health and safety inspection was conducted in all areas accessible to children. Off-limits areas include: entire upstairs, office, downstairs room, backyard and garage. LPA observed the required postings, a working phone, 2A10BC fire extinguisher, and functioning smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. Licensee stated there are no weapons in the home. There are no bodies of water on the premises. Toxic and hazardous items are inaccessible to children. LPA observed a fireplace that was covered by a gate.
Children's files were reviewed. LPA observed a current roster. Licensee's immunization records for measles (MMR), pertussis (Tdap), and the flu are available in the facility file. LPA observed expired in-person EMSA pediatric CPR and First Aid certification. Child Care Provider Mandated Reporter was verified and expires 09/2020.
LPA provided the Child Care Advocates Program email address: childcareadvocatesprogram@dss.ca.gov, so Licensee can request to be added to the distribution list to receive Quarterly Updates. LPA provided and discussed the Safe Sleep in Child Care and Effects of Lead Exposure brochures.
