On October 14, 2022 at approximately 10:05 AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Josiah Gathing met with licensee Nadia Taladay for the purpose of a required annual inspection. The facility days and hours of operation are Monday – Friday 24 hours per day. During today’s inspection, there were no day care children present. Licensee’s two minor children were present during today’s inspection. All individuals subject to criminal background review have obtained a criminal record clearance.

A health and safety evaluation was conducted in all areas accessible to children. Off-limits areas of the home include: All bedrooms, Laundry room, Unattached garage, and Rear backyard. LPA observed a full 2A10BC fire extinguisher, first aid kit, and functioning dual smoke/carbon monoxide detector. Medications are stored in a kitchen cabinet out of children’s reach. Cleaning supplies are stored in a locked kitchen cabinet under the sink. Per licensee, there are no weapons in the home. The fireplace is blocked and out of use. Required postings were posted near the entrance.

LPA observed all necessary Children’s documents in a selected sample of files. LPA observed a current children’s roster and fire drill log last updated May, 2022. LPA observed First Aid/CPR certificates valid through February 2024.

Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see Evaluator Manual – Regulation Interpretations and Procedures for Family Child Care Homes Section 102417. When any IMS is provided, a Plan for Providing IMS must be submitted to the Department.
