25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Gagandeep Singh met with both of the licensees, Elbert Turner and Angela Turner, for an unannounced annual inspection. The purpose of the inspection was explained. Licensee lives in a single family house. Upon LPA's arrival, there are five children in care with both licensees. All adults living or working in the home have criminal background check on file. Licensee is operating within the capacity of this date. Licensee provides day care from Monday to Friday between 6:30 AM to 6:30 PM.
LPA inspected the day care areas with the licensee. Day Care Areas: On ground floor – Bedroom #1, Family room, Bedroom 2, Bedroom # 3, Bathroom in hallway and Backyard. Off limit areas: Entire second floor and Laundry room on ground floor. There is no pool, spa or any other body of water in the house. As per licensee, there is no firearm or weapon in the house. All the cleaning supplies, poisons and other chemicals are stored in off limit areas and are inaccessible to the children. Cabinets in the bathroom have child protective locks installed. All unused electrical outlets have child protective covers installed. The house is in good repair and free of hazards with proper temperature and ventilation. There are multiple carbon monoxide detectors, smoke detectors and fully charged fire extinguishers in the house. There is working telephone and first aid supplies available in the house. There is a variety of age appropriate toys in the house. LPA observed sufficient amount of cribs for the infants. There is shaded area in the back yard. There are plenty of toys in the back yard. No hazard was observed in the back yard.
LPA review the children's record. LPA reviewed the identification and emergency information form for every child for proper names and numbers filled. Licensee has record of children’s immunization on file. Both of the licensees have record of training of preventive health and CPR card valid until February 2023. LPA is aware that the fire or emergency drills must be conducted at least once every six months and must be logged. Licensee has a log in place and per log, last drill was conducted on May 02, 2022.
