13 | On Thursday, May 19, 2022, at approximately 1:15 PM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Alize Tillery met with Floating Director, Hannah Verigin, to conduct an unannounced inspection to initiate the complaint investigation regarding the above allegations. During today's visit, LPA observed 30 preschool children supervised by 4 staff. Administrator Alix Hall arrived to the facility to assist at approximately 2:30 PM.
During today's inspection, LPA Tillery toured all activity areas: Magnolia, Coconut, Oaks and Redwood classrooms. One of the allegations is that card board boxes are placed in between napping children. Upon arrival, LPA observed this to be true, as napping children in room Oaks were napping with card board boxes hendering the teachers view of the children. Administrator stated that this was happening due to parent request of social distancing. This causes a lack of supervision and poses a potential risk in case of emergency exit was necessary.
The second allegation was that the facility does not store food properly. During LPA's investigation, the kitchen was toured and LPA observed molded and expired foods. This poses a potential risk to children. Floating Director stated that the cook has recently left the facility and that herself and Administrator are working on creating a plan to keep the kitchen current and operating sufficiently.
