25 | On Thursday, July 8, 2022 at 1:30 am, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Amanda Sutter and Licensing Program Manager Seychelle De Luca met with Director Rona Traynor for the purpose of an unannounced required annual inspection. LPAs observed 18 sleeping children supervised by32 staff. The facility hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM.
LPA toured classroom space, restrooms, and outdoor play area. LPAs observed the following documents are posted: License, Personal Rights, Parents' Rights Poster, menu, and seat belt law. Cleaning disinfectants and hazardous items are appropriately stored and inaccessible to children. Director stated there are no poisons or firearms on the premises. Furniture and equipment are in good condition, and toileting facilities are in safe, sanitary and in operating condition. The program provides 2 snacks. Children’s lunches are brought from home. LPA discussed proper labeling and storage of food that has been opened.
LPA observed trash bins with tight fitted lids. Drinking water is readily available to children both indoors and outdoors. Representative stated that children bring their own water bottles and are refilled at the facility using water pitchers. LPAs observed the facility’s sign in and out system. Facility has record of conducting fire drills at least every six months; last fire drill was conducted in March 2022. Playground equipment and surfaces are free of loose or sharp parts and cushioning is provided by bark. There are sufficient equipment and toys, and there are shaded areas supplied by shade tents. Children take their water bottles outside.
Four staff and three children's records were reviewed. Child files were observed to be complete. Four out of four staff files reviewed were incomplete. There is at least one staff member present with a current CPR certificate. LPAs observed a functional carbon monoxide detector, smoke detector and fire extinguisher.
