25 | Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Kyrsten Williams and Amanda Sutter met with Director, Josette King, for an unannounced annual inspection. LPAs toured the facility including all activity and classroom spaces, restrooms, food service and outdoor play areas. Census included 0 infant children in care with 2 staff present in the facility. Director stated she is not currently open to infant children at this time. Facility hours of operation are normally Monday through Friday 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM.
Director was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
Classroom spaces appeared clean including the carpets and floor. Chemicals and cleaning materials were kept inaccessible to children. Playground equipment and surfaces were inspected and are in good condition. Drinking water is readily available to children both indoors and outdoors in water bottles. Bathrooms were clean and all sinks and toilets were in operating condition.
LPAs observed that all cribs were free of loose articles or objects and there was one crib or mat for each child in care. All furnishings were in good condition. Infant diaper changing area is clean and within arm's reach of a sink. There is a one inch thick mat for the changing table with a vinyl surface. Toys are appropriate size with no small parts for the safety of the infants. LPAs observed a Needs and Services plan the facility will use when infants are in care.
