25 | At approximately 9:45 AM , Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Amanda Blesi arrived to the facility and checked into the front office. LPA was directed to room 503. Upon arrival LPA met with lead teacher Shelly Potter. Director, Amanda Garcia, and office Specialist Inelva Carvajal, was called and arrived shortly to help with the inspection. The purpose of the inspection today is to conduct a required 1 year annual. The facility is located on Natomas Park Elementary School grounds in room #503. Facility operates two half day programs M-F: 8Am - 11AM and 12PM - 3PM. Facility provides morning and afternoon snacks for the children. Upon arrival, LPA observed 24 children supervised by three staff members.
LPA toured the facility including all activity/classroom areas, the isolation area, restrooms, and outdoor play areas. LPA reviewed care and supervision of children, staffing ratios, health related services, furniture, equipment, drinking water, and food service provisions. The facility has a waiver to share the outdoor space with the elementary school and is used at alternate times than the school. Facility has their own restrooms in the classroom which were observed clean and in working order.
LPA reviewed the children's Identification and Emergency Information. LPA reviewed personnel's education and immunization requirements. All staff criminal record clearances are monitored through the Natomas Unified School District. At least one staff member present today has current EMSA approved Pediatric/Child CPR and First Aid. Facility representative was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
