25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Christopher Bello met with applicant, Vanessa Brown for the purpose of a Case Management Licensee Initiated inspection regarding a increase in capacity. No other adults were present during inspection. All individuals subject to criminal background review have obtained a criminal record clearance. Today’s census included seven children including the licensee’s grandchildren.
A health and safety inspection were conducted inside and out. Off-limits areas include: Off-limit areas include side yard, garage, recessed fireplace and front bedroom. Off-limits areas will remain inaccessible to children by closed doors and/or supervision. Toxic and hazardous items are inaccessible to children. Functioning smoke and carbon monoxide detectors and fire extinguisher were observed in the home. No weapons in the home. The fireplace in the home was appropriately barricaded to prevent access by children.
License conditions
1. Garage area not approved for day care use.
2. Operator to maintain barrier separation to recessed firepit.
3. Backyard and two bedrooms are part of the day care facility.
Effective today 7/2/19, License for small family child care home approved today.
Facility is approved for a Large Family Child Care License to serve 12 children (when there is an assistant present) with no more than 4 infants, or capacity of 14 children when 1 child is enrolled in Transitional Kindergarten or above and 1 child at least age 6 with a maximum of 3 infants. Without assistant, the ratios revert to those for small family child care home. An exit interview was conducted and notice of site visit was posted. |
